Office Hours where you can pop in any time to ask questions and get answers.
California Compliance Community was created to help successful small business owners, just like you, who were struggling with all the compliance. They wanted to do the right thing and be in compliance with the state's rules but what were they? Which ones applied to their business? How could they quickly find out the answers to their questions? And, what were they missing?
One of the biggest challenges is that you don't know what you don't know.
I hate not knowing something that I should know. It's embarrassing, frustrating, and, often, completely avoidable.
Several years ago our family was learning how to play golf and we’d play on a somewhat regular basis. However, our children were pretty young and lived on the golf course, so we walked the course. We’d call the clubhouse and see how busy it was; if it was pretty quiet, we’d jump on and play 4 or 5 holes and then head back home. With the age of our kids, a couple of holes was plenty. On the rare occasion that my husband and I golfed as a couple, we still walked the course.
But, our kids LOVED the idea of riding (and driving!) the golf cart. So, for a special treat, I took one of our daughters out for 9-holes in the cart. Partly through our golf outing, the course marshal stopped us and scolded me for pulling off the cart path too close to the tee boxes.
I had no idea that I wasn’t allowed to drive the cart there.
But, honestly, it was the first time I had ever golfed in cart, I had seen other golfers driving around the course and it wasn’t obvious to me that there were limits on when and where they were driving.
I didn’t know that I needed to ask the question.
I didn’t know what it was that I didn’t know.
Embarrassing.
Frustrating.
Completely avoidable.
That's where I can help YOU.
If you've spent hours searching on google or asking for feedback from other business owners, but still haven't gotten the help you need, California Compliance Community is the answer!
One client called me very frustrated after spending hours and hours looking for an answer to a question. She had looked through a California agency site, reviewed multiple google sites, read several articles and checked multiple links. But even after all of that she still wasn't sure if the information she found applied to her and her business.
With just a quick call, I was able to give her the answer she was looking for.
I could have saved her HOURS of time and frustration.
Three different clients in three different industries called with a similar question within the span of 2 weeks. They each got the information but felt like they were the only one struggling with the scenario.
If there was a way to connect these business owners, they could have learned the HR foundations, discussed the concerns in real time and benefited from the different perspectives. When they later sat down with each of their employees, those conversations would have been even better.
And they would have felt relieved to know that they weren't the only ones struggling with the problem....it's actually pretty common.
So, the California Compliance Community was born. A place for small business owners to quickly and easily discover which laws apply to them, the best practices for implementing those rules and regulations, and a community to provide support and encouragement to other California small business owners.
