Refresh Your Email Strategy for Better Engagement
(Especially if you’re already active on social media)
You’re consistent on LinkedIn (or your other fav social media platform).
You share insights, build credibility, and maybe even have a few posts that gained unexpected traction.
But when’s the last time you reached out to your email list?
If your answer is, “Ummm…,” you’re not alone.
A lot of attorneys (and other professionals) focus on visible platforms like LinkedIn, but your email list?
That’s where the connection really happens. Marketing should be a long game. And it’s won in the inbox.
Here’s the good news: If you’re already sharing valuable content on social media, you’ve done the hardest part—creating the content. Now it’s time to put your hard work in a new format.
Social media is great for discovery and visibility, but it’s also noisy (and FAST). Your posts compete with job updates, memes, and pithy quotes. And it disappears as soon as someone refreshes the page.
Your email list? That’s a direct line to your dream client.
No algorithm. No distractions. Just you and the reader’s inbox.
And since they’ve opted in, they want to hear from you. These are the people who have raised their hands and said, “Yes, please!” to hearing from you.
So, how do you make it easy?
That video you posted about the importance of conducting inspections before making a property purchase?
Perfect email content.
That hypothetical client question you answered in a comment thread?
Turn it into a short story-driven email that positions you as both helpful and compassionate.
You don’t have to reinvent the wheel. You just have to give it another spin.
Your LinkedIn posts might be a little more conversational, but your emails need a clear throughline.
Ask yourself:
Then edit down to one main idea per email. Bonus points if you can tie it to a client question or something happening in your industry/field right now.
Your clients and contacts are busy. Break up your paragraphs. Use bullets. Keep it tight.
Email isn't where we go to read novels. We want to get in, get out, and get on with our day.
Your email doesn’t have to sell. It can simply connect.
Invite a reply. Ask a quick question. Link back to a post they might have missed on LinkedIn. Or link up a blog post.
When you treat your list like a conversation instead of a broadcast, you'll see better results. [That’s true of your social media posts, too.]
